Denver Citizens Emergency Response Training (Denver CERT)

What would YOU do if a disaster hit close to home or work??

What: This disaster preparedness and response training (FEMA course G317) will include how to plan for a disaster and teach basic response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.  At the completion of this training, participants are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in our community.

Why:  When a disaster hits, we can’t always depend on professional responders to be immediately available. We would like to have our citizens of Denver trained to help within their own communities. Read more »

NPL Construction Company will be replacing some natural gas pipeline in our neighborhood, as part of a multi-year project to replace nearly 100 linear miles of pipe in the Denver metro area. They anticipate starting the following projects in March:

·         East Bruce Randolph Avenue from Milwaukee to Steele streets (to be complete by the end of March)
·         East 25th Avenue from Franklin to Gilpin streets (to be complete in May)
·         Franklin Street from East 25th to East 24th avenues (to be complete in June)
·         East 24th Avenue from Franklin to Gilpin streets  (to be complete in July)
·         Gilpin Street from East 24th to East 23rd avenues (to be complete in August)

Inclement weather may delay construction, and work may occur along side and adjacent streets.

NPL has a representative available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 303-435-5321 to discuss any concerns or to answer any questions you may have about this work. Xcel Energy also is available at all times at 1-800-895-4999.

The general hours of construction for all projects are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Parking along these streets and on side streets may be limited and driveways may need to be blocked for short periods of time. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you would like to receive email updates about this project or have questions, comment or concerns, send them to infocolorado@xcelenergy.com.
