The Board of NCPCA will meet on Thursday September 22, 2011(6:00p.m.) at Boggy’s to discuss and implement a neighborhood team to help keep the technology we currently use updated with the possibility of expanding our outreach to residents through other medians. If you have I.T / I.C.T experience and would like to support your neighborhood, please come and share your thoughts/ideas. We welcome your input, time and talent.

2011 SUMMER ART CAMP
JULY 12TH – JULY 29TH

Voice on Canvas is now accepting registration for the Skyland Summer Art Camp. The camp accepts only 15 youth each year, and is held during the month of July, beginning July 12th through July 29th. The camp meets Tues., Wed., Thurs., and Fri. between the hours of 9am and 1pm. Location: Outdoor Courtyard, 2740 Garfield St, Denver, CO 80205.

An indoor facility is available during inclement weather.

The art camp curriculum is designed to encourage youth to have fun while learning. Functional and free form art exploration, incorporated with reading, writing, math and communication skills, addressing an issue of concern in youth’s community environment are tools used to give participating youth the platform to express themselves and become social responsible activist. Guest speakers and field trips to artist studios are also included in the program.

Voice on Canvas is a supporter of Denver’s Child & Youth Friendly City Initiative. Its mission: “Produce a safer, friendlier city initiated by thousands of Denver’s youth and adults voices, in listening to and resolving community issues of concerns among our city’s youth.”

The fee for the camp is $65, scholarships are available on a first come first serve basis.
