Transplants from DUG

Denver Residents who meet income guidelines can receive free vegetable seeds and transplants. Applications are available at recreation centers, churches and senior citizen centers throughout Denver. Review the distribution list below to locate the nearest center.

Act now! Seed orders will be distributed in March, and plants will arrive in May.

The Seeds and Transplants Program is funded by a Community Development Block Grant from the City & County of Denver Office of Economic Development Business and Housing Services. The program is administered by DUG. Last year the program served 4,000 people, providing the incentive for thousands of families to grow their own food.

Step One: Pick-up an application and return your completed application to your distribution center by February 2, 2009.
Step Two: Pick-up your seeds at your local distribution center after March 20, 2009.
Step Three: Pick up your transplants at your distribution center in mid-May 2009.
Step Four: Plant your garden and enjoy.
