Denver Dems’ Watch Fest

Denver Dems’ Watch Fest
Tuesday, August 26th, 5-10 p.m.
Free admission!
at Denver’s City Park Bandstand/Pavilion

The Democratic National Convention is the hottest party in town this week, but most of us won’t be able to get into the Pepsi Center.  So come to City Park for FREE Music, Comedy, Convention Watching and FUN!

Invite a friend or colleague to this unforgettable event >>>

It’s FREE, but we have a 3,000 people maximum so come early! We will have BBQ available for sale, BEER for sale by Oskar Blues Brewery (We ask that you do not bring in outside food or drinks, but blankets and chairs are fine), OBAMA T-shirts and gear for sale, and progressive issues information!

After dusk, the 18×15’ screen on the Pavilion will show Senator Hillary Clinton and Keynote Speaker former Virginia Governor Mark Warner’s speeches, as well as other items of interest (don’t worry – it will all be time delayed).  But FIRST – on the Bandstand on the lake there will be Bluegrass, Funk, Cowboy Musings, and Rock & Roll, along with Comedy, Local Lawmakers and Special Guests!

100 SPECIAL VIP PASSES AVAILABLE!!  For a $100 donation to the Democratic Party of Denver, you will be allowed VIP parking, be escorted into the Pavilion where you can enjoy a special organic meal relying on locally available produce prepared by “Chef In A Flash” Michael Schock, complimentary Beer (Oskar Blues Brews) and Wine, and enjoy the DNC footage on a 50″ HDTV.  And guess who else will be in the VIP section?  Ethel Kennedy and son Maxwell Taylor Kennedy, JJ Abrams of “Lost” and “Alias” fame, actors Fran Drescher, Joe Pantoliano and MORE!  Get your VIP passes while they’re still available here >>

EVENT DETAILS:
To kick off the Watch Fest, Denver’s DNC Host, Mayor John Hickenlooper will rededicate the 1908 Prismatic Fountain and greet us (via video, recorded 8/19), preceded by:

* Maxwell Taylor Kennedy, author, attorney and son of Hon. Robert F. Kennedy
* JJ Abrams, creater of “Lost,” “Alias,” and “Mission:  Impossible 3″
* The Comedy Stylings of Lee Camp (scheduled to appear later in the Big Tent)
* Chuck Pyle, the Zen Cowboy, country musician
* Ten Pound Elephant – funk-based, edgy, psychedelic, jazz influenced music you can dance to
* Acoustic Mining Company, acoustic bluegrass
* Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald, comedian and star of Animal Planet’s Emergency Vets
* The Reals (Americana/Garage/Blues music) will bring it all home after the Convention Speeches as we dance into the night!

Free school bus shuttles will be picking up on Broadway between Colfax and 14th Ave. beginning at 5:30 pm. Look for a yellow school bus with a Denver Dems’ Watch Fest logo on it. Limited parking will be available at the Denver Museum & Zoo and along 17th Avenue (please respect the neighbors of the park and do not park on side streets).  VERY limited parking will be available with ADA access and for media and VIP guests in the lot to the west of the Pavilion.

SEE YOU THERE!!!!
