A HOME FOR ALL SEASONS

FEBRUARY 2008 NEIGHBORHOOD LIAISON E-NEWSLETTER

A Home for All Seasons is a program that provides minor home repairs at no cost to the homeowners, allowing families to live in warmth, safety and independence, and to remain in their homes and neighborhoods.

To be eligible for consideration, you must:

  • Own and occupy your home with no plans to vacate/sell the home for a period of one year
  • Be willing to sign a homeowner agreement, releases and waivers
  • Meet income eligibility requirements
  • Be over 55 years of age or living with a disability, or caring for a family member living with a disability
  • Need minor home repair assistance

Projects are completed by volunteers and skilled trades and are subject to their availability.

Typical repairs in A Home for All Seasons program include:

  • Safety surveys
  • Minor plumbing
  • Minor electrical
  • Light bulb replacement
  • Smoke & CO detectors
  • Furnace maintenance
  • Door & window repair
  • Minor carpet/flooring repairs
  • Repair handrails & steps
  • Minor handicap accessibility items
  • Fire extinguishers
